Primary researcher: Román Ramos Báez PI/manager: Britney Moss Uploaded by: Román Ramos Báez
Experiment dates: 2018-07-24 - 2018-08-02 Dataset uploaded: May 2020 Last updated: Jun 2020
Keywords: [fluorescence] [auxin] [TPL] [TIR1/AFBs] [Aux/IAAs] [REL2] [maize] [Arabidopsis] [flow] Manuscripts: [32123041] [PMC7140906]
Organizations: Whitman College, Department of Biology , Walla Walla, WA (United States)
Purpose: The TPL homolog REL2 enabled ZmIAAs to repress ARFs.
Conclusion: B, The N-terminal 91 amino acids of maize REL2 assist ZmIAA8 in conferring transcriptional repression on AtARF19, and this repression is relieved upon the addition of auxin. The REL2N91 fragment was directly compared with the analogous Arabidopsis TPLN100. The AtARF19_H170A mutant is unable to bind DNA, so the auxin response stays off. Strains labeled none contain a ZmIAA8 that has not been fused to a corepressor.
Comments: None

Quality control: IAAs without TPL fused to them were used, as well as non-fluorescent yeasts as controls. Multiple reps were carried out, and cgrowth conditions were held constant.
