Notice: Temporary Suspension of New Experiment Creation
We have temporarily disabled the creation of new experiments as we are continuously running out of space. This issue has been impacting both uploads and downloads from FlowRepository. By taking this step, we aim to make downloads of existing data more reliable.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work on upgrading our hardware and improving the overall solution.
Thank you for your patience.

Experiment Overview

Repository ID: FR-FCM-Z466 Experiment name: TCPP MIFlowCyt score: 81.21%
Primary researcher: Lydia Bederka PI/manager: Vivienne Rebel Uploaded by: Lydia Bederka
Experiment dates: 2018-09-04 - 2021-06-29 Dataset uploaded: Jun 2021 Last updated: Jul 2021
Keywords: [flow cytometry] [High Throughput] [Leukocytes] [macrophages] [sputum] [alveolar] [interstitial] [diagnostic] [lung cancer] [epithelial] Manuscripts: Plosonelogo
Organizations: bioAffinity Technologies, bioAffinity Technologies, San Antonio, TX (United States)
Purpose: Analysis of the cellular content of sputum via flow cytometry in order to develop a diagnostic platform for lung cancer.
Conclusion: Sputum-derived cells were stained with the porphyrin dye (TCPP) and several differences were revealed when comparing sputum from persons with confirmed lung cancer versus those at high-risk of developing lung cancer.
Comments: Three-day sputum collection from persons aged 55-74 with at least a 3- pack-year cigarette smoking history at high-risk of developing lung cancer.
Funding: Not disclosed
Quality control: Debris was omitted by defining the initial light scatter gate by using beads of known diameter. Particulates smaller than 5 um and larger than 30 um were omited from furhter analysis. Dead cells were excluded by the addition of a viability stain. The presence of Alveolar (CD45+ CD206++) and Interstitial macrophages (CD45+ CD206+) indicate the sample was derived from deep within the lung and not cells from the oral cavity.
