Notice: Temporary Suspension of New Experiment Creation
We have temporarily disabled the creation of new experiments as we are continuously running out of space. This issue has been impacting both uploads and downloads from FlowRepository. By taking this step, we aim to make downloads of existing data more reliable.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work on upgrading our hardware and improving the overall solution.
Thank you for your patience.

Experiment Overview

Repository ID: FR-FCM-Z76L Experiment name: Single drop cytometry onboard the International Space Station MIFlowCyt score: 85.19%
Primary researcher: Daniel Rea PI/manager: Eugene Chan Uploaded by: Daniel Rea
Experiment dates: 2022-05-13 - 2022-05-16 Dataset uploaded: Feb 2024 Last updated: Apr 2024
Keywords: [flow cytometry] [polystyrene beads] [Beads] [Flowcytometry] [Space] [Microgravity] Manuscripts:
Organizations: rHEALTH, Bedford, MA (United States)
Purpose: To assess the functionality and consistency of hydrodynamic focusing based flow cytometry in a microgravity environment.
Conclusion: Analysis of the data collected demonstrates that sheath-flow hydrodynamic focused cytometry is capable in a microgravity environment, and produces comparable results to ground testing. All mission objectives were met and exceeded for device functionality and data collection.
Comments: None
Funding: NASA Contracts 80NSSC18C0162 and NNC14CA02C
Quality control: Device was subjected to EMI testing to detect and prevent any undesirable interference. Vibe testing was conducted to ensure the flowcytometer would maintain nominal function after experiencing launch forces en route to the ISS.
