Purpose: We aimed to define whether alkylglycerols (AKGs) affect macrophage viability, maturation or phagocytosis ability.
Conclusion: AKGs did not affect macrophage phagocytosis. The total percentage of phagocytosis macrophages was not different between vehicle and AKG treated cells. Also, the amount of beads ingested remained unaffected by AKGs.
