Organizations: Inflammation Unit, Laboratory of Pediatric Research, ULB, Brussels, (Belgium)
Immune Response Service, Sciensano, Brussels, (Belgium)
Purpose: This experiment was performed to compare pulmonary granulocytes (neutrophils and eosinophils) between 4-5 week old male and female C57BL/6 mice, naive or 24 hours after intranasal infection with 1.10^8 CFU of group B streptococcus.
Conclusion: As expected, significant and massive recruitment of neutrophils was observed in the lungs of infected mice compared to naive mice. neutrophils were found at similar counts in both sexes. No significant difference was observed between naive and infected mice as well as between male and female mice regarding the proportion of eosinophils
Comments: None
Funding: This research was supported by “IRIS research”
Quality control: Single color controls of each fluorochrome were run for compensation and FMO controls were run for gating
