| Purpose: | This experiment was performed to compare pulmonary leukocytes: macrophages, monocytes, NK cells, T cells, and B cells, between 4-5 week old male and female C57BL/6 mice, naive or 24 hours after intranasal infection with 1.10^8 CFU of group B streptococcus. | ||||
| Conclusion: | the number of monocytes and macrophages was significantly higher in males compared to females. We also observed an increase in Natural Killer (NK) cells in infected mice compared to naive mice, but no difference was seen between males and females. No significant difference was observed between naive and infected mice as well as between male and female mice, regarding the proportion of, T cells and B cells. | ||||
